What a scare! The Kiss in Florida last Sunday, the 10th, began with a worrying technical glitch: the platform carrying Gene Simmons tilted to one side during the opening of the show, but the musician managed to regain his balance and avoid an accident.
Currently on the road with The End of the Road Tour , back on stage after postponements caused by the pandemic and positive COVID-19 tests for Simmons and Paul Stanley , the band enters the stage in grand style: each member descends on a unique platform during the opening track “Detroit Rock City”.
Simmons' platform descended safely for most of the way until it tilted to one side. The bassist shifted position to maintain his balance and had to hold onto the opposite end for his own safety while his bandmates continued on.
The crew quickly adjusted the height on all sides of the platform, but Gene Simmons still couldn't play for almost a minute, waiting to safely reach the stage. The platform didn't descend correctly, and the 72-year-old musician had to get out on his own, still a considerable distance from the ground, to continue the show as normal. Watch the moment below.
