Gene Simmons , bassist for Kiss , has confirmed the release of the biopic Shout It Loud , a Netflix original production, in 2022.

In a press conference about the A&E documentary KISStory , which arrives in Brazil at the end of August, Simmons spoke about the project as the band's next big release.

“We have a movie on Netflix that will be released next year with a great director, the same one who directed the last Pirates of the Caribbean and the next one [in the franchise], with Johnny Depp , you know? I know Johnny, he’s a friend,” he said about Joachim Rønning .

According to the musician, the film aims to narrate the band's origins within the social and cultural context of New York City in the 1970s, when Kiss emerged. “It’s the story of how four completely different people came together and formed a band they never saw on stage. Ace [Frehley] delivered liquor at a liquor store, Peter [Criss] didn’t do anything for a living and was supported by his wife, Paul [Stanley] was a taxi driver, and I worked at an agency,” he summarized. “We came from completely different backgrounds, and how we came together is amazing even today.”

In April, the specialized website Deadline published exclusive information about the accelerated negotiations with the streaming platform, and Stanley confirmed Netflix's interest in the project, but only now has the project been officially confirmed.
