KISS is one of the most successful bands in rock history. Their explosive live shows, platform boots, and especially their iconic makeup have transcended music and become an integral part of pop culture.
Currently nearing the end of their career, after 40 years on the road, and in the midst of their farewell tour, the band has already ruled out the possibility of new albums in the future, having delivered twenty studio albums to their fans.
Wikimetal editorial and design team evaluated the artwork of each album, observing exclusively the visual aspect of each album based on their own preferences, without judging the sonic content of the records.
Unsurprisingly, the album covers from the band's "Unmasked" era came in last place, with the exception of Psycho Circus (1998), which may have been disliked for its scary clown. More conceptual covers from the band also performed well, such as Hot In The Shade (1989) and Revenge (1992). See the ranking below.
Other rock and metal giants also had their album covers analyzed; see the rankings for Black Sabbath , Iron Maiden , Metallica , Helloween , Judas Priest , and Megadeth .
