Ace Frehley , the legendary guitarist responsible for creating the Spaceman in Kiss , turned 70 last Tuesday, April 27th . After exchanging barbs and accusations with some band members, which ones still call to wish him a happy birthday?

In an interview with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM , the musician talked about contacting his former bandmates. “I got off the phone with Peter Criss an hour ago. Peter was nice enough to give me a lovely call – he and his lovely wife, Gigi, so it was very kind,” he said (via Blabbermouth ). “I haven’t heard from Paul [Stanley] or Gene [Simmons] and probably won’t. But that’s okay, I should get a message.”

Kiss 's official profile , a photo of Frehley was posted with a brief "happy birthday" message, something that was repeated on Simmons . "Happy birthday, Ace Frehley and many others," the bassist wrote on Twitter. "Happy birthday, Ace! You will ALWAYS be one of a kind. Celebrate your day!" wrote Stanley .

“We still have a good relationship. They’re just a little more distant than the relationship between me and Peter, that’s all,” Frehley continued in the interview. “Peter and I used to be a duo, because we were party animals in the 1970s. Gene and Paul went their own way, Peter and I would hang out together.”

Frehley was one of the original members of Kiss and remained in the band until 1982, when he left and was replaced by Vinnie Vincent , before returning in 1998. The guitarist's last tour with the band was the Farewell Tour in 2001, which will be released as a live album this year.
