Kiss in Brazil: Irresponsible tribute from fans surprises Gene Simmons

Balloons bearing an image of the bassist were spotted by airplane pilots in São Paulo

Kiss 's visit to Brazil last week with their farewell tour, the End Of The Road Tour, left a mark on thousands of fans, and some Brazilians decided to pay an irresponsible tribute, but one that impressed bassist Gene Simmons .

A video shared by a Brazilian pilot shows a balloon with a huge screen of Simmons' face, complete with The Demon's signature makeup, flying at about 20,000 feet.

“[The balloons] represent a real risk to aircraft and pilots need to be alert. I recently avoided one of these in the São Paulo area,” wrote Scott Bateman , another pilot who reposted the images.

Despite warnings from pilots about the dangers of releasing balloons—it's an environmental crime to release balloons that could cause fires—Simmons seemed impressed when recommending the video to his followers. "You won't believe what you're going to see," he said.
