Kiss End Of The Road farewell tour in Brazil last Tuesday, the 26th, with a show in Porto Alegre. The band honored the packages sold to the Brazilian audience, including an acrylic divider for photos.
The VIP Silver available in South America includes exclusive items and a photo with the band and costs $750, equivalent to R$3,700 at the current exchange rate. Kiss had to cancel all fan meet-and-greet packages last year as a precaution against COVID-19 and now continues with the acrylic barrier as a sanitary protocol, despite the speed of the photos, without physical contact with the members even before the pandemic.
Present at yesterday's meet and greet, advertising executive Pedro Mello , 33, showed understanding for the band's attitude regarding the losses that would be caused by further postponements or cancellations if any of the members were to fall ill, as happened when Paul Stanley tested positive for COVID-19 in 2021, despite not having been informed in advance of what the procedure would be, only finding out upon arriving at the location of the photos, which reflect the barrier.
“Obviously, this interferes with the experience; besides being a physical barrier, in my mind there’s already that idea of ‘distance.’ They hear everything we say, but the interaction separated by a barrier is different,” he told Wikimetal . “Anyway, hugging them and taking a picture up close would be a different experience. But nothing that doesn’t make every penny paid worthwhile. Necessary? No. Prudent? Yes. Does it interfere with the experience? Yes. Does it make it not worthwhile? Not at all.”
Despite the measure, some fans managed to get photos without this distancing, as in the case of musician and craftsman Guilherme Adamatti , who delivered a ceramic sculpture to drummer Eric Singer and managed to get a picture without masks or barriers, thanks to the help of an assistant who was impressed with the artist's work, as reported by the newspaper GaúchaZH .
The restrictions didn't seem to apply to other members of the event's team and organization, as Gene Simmons posted a photo with the Porto Alegre Military Police to thank them for escorting him to the show venue.
Brazilian fans interested in purchasing VIP packages can still buy tickets for the shows in the cities of Curitiba and Ribeirão Preto, on April 28th and May 1st, through the official website .
