Hammett says new ideas will be saved for the next album
In an interview with an American radio station, Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett spoke about losing his iPhone, which was full of riff ideas for Metallica's new album, "Hardwired... To Self Destruct":
“It was devastating for me. I had to start from scratch while everyone else already had material for the songs. Later on, when I started having more good and concrete ideas, most of the songs were already written.”
Hammett, however, was optimistic: “I had to think, ‘Okay, I have material – but apparently it will only go on the next album.’”
