Kirk Hammett recreates the guitar used on Metallica's first five albums.

The $15,000 instrument is a partnership with the manufacturer Gibson.

Kirk Hammett Metallica 's first five albums . These are: Kill 'Em All (1983), Ride the Lightning (1984), Master of Puppets (1986), …And Justice for All (1988) and Metallica (1991).

“I’ve been playing Gibson since the late 70s, when I bought my first black Flying V in 1979. I could barely play it. But I knew it was the guitar for me and, within three or four days, I was inseparable from that guitar. When I stop to think about it, Gibson guitars appear on every Metallica album. And especially on the first three albums. It was all Gibson because I only had my Flying V,” the musician said (via Blabbermouth ).

The 200 units of the $15,000 instrument are now available on the manufacturer's official website . The Flying V 1979 features T-Type humbucker pickups, a custom V profile, a mahogany body, and Schaller M6 tuners.

Recently, Hammett also released the 1959 model of the Greeny Les Paul guitar .
