The supergroup Kings Of Thrash , formed by big names in thrash metal , has released its latest single, “Lockdown”.
lineup features bassist David Ellefson (ex- Megadeth ), guitarists Chris Poland and Jeff Young (ex-Megadeth), vocalist Chaz Leon and drummer Fred Aching ( Dead Groove , Bullet Boys ). The music video for the new song, directed by Aching himself in partnership with Holly West , his bandmate in Dead Groove, is now available.
Jeff Young, one of the project's founders, defines "Lockdown" as "a journey to the roots of 80s thrash, with punk influences and mind-blowing guitar solos." David Ellefson reinforces that the song "not only pays homage to classic thrash, but also features lyrics that echo the madness of current times."
In addition to the new single, Kings Of Thrash is preparing a special tour to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Youthanasia , Megadeth's iconic album. The band promises setlists full of rarities, as well as other classics of the genre, keeping the flame of thrash metal alive.
