Abbath's next album will feature lyrics inspired by the psychiatrist Jung.
Bassist King Ov Hell , whose real name is Tom Cato Visnes, has announced his departure from the Norwegian black metal band Abbath . King has also been a member of Gorgoroth, God Seed , and Audrey Horne .
The post says: “King is no longer part of Abbath due to conflicting views on lyrical concepts for the upcoming album. The lyrics are inspired by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung. King feels that Jung's connection to Christian mysticism is incompatible with the band's image.”
King said in the statement: “I wish the band members, record label and crew all the best for upcoming shows and albums. The music itself is nothing short of brilliant. However, I must uphold artistic integrity and respectfully step away.”
The record label, Season Of Mist, wrote that the band will soon issue an official statement and that no shows will be canceled.
