King Diamond spoke about the development of new album . The album has already been delayed several times and still does not have a definite release date.
In an interview with Fistful Of Metal [via Blabbermouth ], King explained the delay of the material, which was originally going to be called The Institute , but will now have a different name.
“Well, to begin with, the original name we chose was The Institute . However, since the start of the US tour, it changed to St Lucifer's Hospital 1920 [the same name as the tour ]. It's quite possible that there will be a track on the album called 'The Institute'. We were supposed to release it this year, and in fact it was supposed to be completely finished before the recent shows. But I want to make sure it's the best material I've ever released.”
However, the vocalist promised a new song later this year, called “Lobotomy.” According to him, the band is preparing to film its music video. Diamond also commented that there are more songs ready.
“Other songs that are already finished are an introductory track called “Under The Surface,” “The Institute,” “The Nun,” “Faceless,” and of course, “Spider Lilly” [ which was the first single to be released ]. There’s another track, which I’m not sure if it will be on the album yet, called “Deep In The Darkness 1920.”
The Dane added that his longtime partner, guitarist Andy LaRocque, has been working on at least five tracks. One of them has a "monstrous chorus," and the band's idea is to record it with a choir.
King Diamond also revealed that his new album will be part of a trilogy, and that he already has the three titles decided.
