Killswitch Engage releases new single “Forever Aligned”. The track is taken from their new album This Consequence , which will be released on February 21, 2025.
The album will be the band's ninth, and the sixth with original vocalist Jesse Leach , who returned to the group in 2012.
“'Forever Aligned' is one of those songs that's not just about us as humans, our love, and connection, but that connection with the unknown, the higher power, the universe, or God,” Leach explains, via Blabbermouth .
"It seems like a good first song to release, not only sonically but also lyrically, since it's all about connection. The devices of the world we live in could use much more connectivity."
Regarding the new album This Consequence
Commenting on the new album, Leach says that, for him, "it's the combination of everything the past five years have thrown at them," "as a band, as humans, and as a society as a whole."
The vocalist continues to show affection for the album, saying he loves the "combination of everyone's ideas and their contributions" to the album. Leach, satisfied with the result, states that he "wouldn't change a thing".
“I think this is exactly the album we needed to make. I’m honored and proud of what we were all able to create and refine through this music and message.”
