In September, renowned bassist Felipe Andreoli will release his first solo album, Resonance , which was supported by fans through a crowdfunding campaign. As a preview of what's to come, the musician revealed new guest artists who will appear on his debut album.
One of them is his longtime friend and former bandmate Kiko Loureiro , who played with Andreoli in Angra in 2001. “He helped me a lot in the composition and arrangement process. Having the impressions of a guy like Kiko Loureiro is always very important, because he is a great composer, as well as an excellent guitarist. His vision helped me shape and refine the arrangements of the songs,” explains Felipe.
Another guest on the album is André Nieri , a Brazilian guitarist based in the United States, who is one of the leading figures in the current jazz fusion scene and winner of the fourth edition of the Guitar Idol . “He has played with Angra's drummer, Bruno Valverde, and has been a friend for many years. André recorded extremely complicated parts in one of my songs, nailed the solo, and is one of the great talents of Brazilian guitar,” adds Andreoli.
The third guest is Croatian vocalist Dino Jelusick , who performs in bands like Dirty Shirley and Animal Drive , and gained international renown for his collaborations with Mike Portnoy and Tony Franklin , as well as for making videos where he adds vocals over instrumental songs. “I sent him the instrumental track, with bass and guitar melodies, and he added a vocal line on top of it. The result was amazing,” concludes Felipe.
Other names previously announced as part of Resonance are guitarists Brett Garsed and Guthrie Govan , and drummers Virgil Donatti and Simon Phillips .
