Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro has released his fifth solo album, titled Open Source . The album is his first since Sounds Of Innocence , from 2012.
The new album, made possible through crowdfunding with the help of fans, resulted in exclusive content and active participation from Loureiro's admirers in the creation of the artist's new project.
This active participation is, in fact, part of the album's concept, which has an open-source technological approach (hence the title, Open Source ). The guitarist proposes that on the new album, the songs should not be the final state of the art, but rather the beginning, encouraging fans to download the songs and remix, recreate, and make new versions.
