In an interview, Kiko Loureiro spoke about the path between Angra and Megadeth

BackStage360 recently interviewed Kiko Loureiro , former Angra and current Megadeth member . In the interview, Loureiro recounted how he was invited to play guitar in Dave Mustaine .

“Angra had a gold record in Brazil and we were releasing it in Europe in 1994. The band grew and changed between the 90s and 2000s. Once, at the Metal All-Stars in São Paulo, I met David Ellefson [Megadeth bassist]. About six months later he called me and said, 'Look, Mustaine is going to call you. Is that okay?' So I went to Tennessee to meet Dave. We spent a day there and, two days later, I was in Megadeth.”

Dave Mustaine had previously told Revolver that finding Loureiro was "blowing." "It was the first time, since Marty Friedman joined the band, that I felt intimidated as an instrumentalist." He also said that Loureiro "is a wonderful talent, always with new ideas."
