The fate of the USA was once in Keith Richards' hands
Guitarist Keith Richards revealed to the BBC that he once threatened current US President Donald Trump with a knife to "get rid of him as a concert promoter."
Richards recounts that the band was wrapping up their tour promoting the album Steel Wheels with a show in Atlantic City sponsored by Trump, and only agreed to the partnership on the condition that he not get involved in any aspect of the show or even attend the venue.
Trump agreed, and the show was about to happen. “[The poster] said 'Donald Trump presents The Rolling Stones ,' and the band's name was in lowercase letters,” Richards recounts. Despite the agreement, the current president showed up at the show, which made the guitarist nervous. “I grabbed my trusty razor blade and stuck it in the table, saying, 'You have to get rid of this guy. Now, the USA has to get rid of him. Don't say I didn't warn you!'”
The guitarist isn't the only one in the band who isn't happy with the current situation in the country and the world in general. Mick Jagger has publicly stated that he doesn't support Brexit, the British movement to leave the European Union, and confessed: "Everyone would like to have a quick solution and a united front instead of separation."
Currently, the Rolling Stones are preparing to embark on a UK tour, and we should soon receive news about a new album, as Richards has revealed that he is composing again with Jagger.
