Keith Richards recently revealed that he believes John Lennon and George Harrison would have been a good fit for the Rolling Stones.
Speaking to The Telegraph , Richards commented on the rivalry between Stokes and Beatles in the 1960s.
Richards explained: "I don't think John Lennon would have had much trouble fitting in with the Stones, or George, if you can imagine that sort of thing happening."
He continued: “We were from the same generation and we all loved the same music. When we first heard the Beatles, we were relieved because there was another band in England on the same path as us. And within a few months, that path became the main path.”
Richards also commented during the interview about Paul McCartney appearing on the Stones' new album, Hackney Diamonds . Speaking about McCartney's appearance on the album track "Bite My Head Off" playing bass, Richards said: "Paul was in town... And we couldn't keep him away, blessed be."
"And if you get one of the Beatles on your song, you know, you make it (...) Paul is very friendly and easy to joke around with; we've been great friends forever."
