This Friday, the 13th, the modern symphonic metal band Kamelot announced their new studio album, The Awakening .
This is Kamelot's first album to be released in five years and is scheduled for release on March 17th via Napalm Records . In addition to the announcement, the band released the first single from the new project, the powerful "One More Flag In The Ground," which explores themes such as physical and mental health and the fight against illness.
Regarding the song, Kamelot's vocalist, Tommy Karevik , comments: “The main focus of this video and this track was to have a metaphor for the difficulties of battling an illness or disease, whether physical or mental. Each step of recovery and healing is another 'flag on the ground'. With each small step, another victory to be achieved.”
Regarding the album, guitarist Thomas Youngblood reveals: “With The Awakening , we created one of our most diverse albums in years. We fused elements of progressive metal, gothic and power metal with melodic and symphonic metal. Working with incredible guest artists from the music industry and having producer Sascha Paeth and Jacob Hansen mixing elevated us to another level of sound. This album offers everything to Kamelot fans and also goes beyond the boundaries of nu metal and the legions of hard rock.”
Kamelot is scheduled to tour Brazil in 2023. During the month of February, the band will be performing in the cities of Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Brasília, São Paulo, and Rio de Janeiro. Learn more.
