The lead singer and songwriter of a band has the great responsibility of clearly defining the style and originality of the project. In the case of Kadu Pelegrini , the challenge is even greater: the musician occupies both roles in the bands Kiara Rocks and StormSons and confessed to a tendency towards being a dictator in the creative process.
In an interview with The Wikimetal Happy Hour , Pelegrini explained that the level of dedication is the same for both projects. "There's no division, both are on the same level [of importance] for me, I can work on both together and I don't let either down, especially since I'm the one who formed both," he explained.
When writing new songs, the singer developed a method for differentiating the lyrics beyond just the sound. “I divide myself into two people: Kiara Rocks is a project with very personal lyrics, based on my experiences. StormSons, on the other hand, allows me to be a character, interpret other things (…) so that it's not necessarily about things that happened to me,” he explained. “I compose the music, then I see the mood and what the lyrics need to convey, and that's where I decide which path to take.”
Pelegrini defined the creation of StormSons as more "democratic," since Kiara Rocks is largely based on the vocalist's own experiences. "We put these ideas together and create, I take care of the lyrics more. I don't know, I think I prefer to interpret the lyrics that I write myself. It seems kind of dictatorial to say that only I can compose, but I feel strange singing other people's words, it's annoying," he continued. "I have to open my mind to it."
