Manson recounts meeting with Bieber
In an interview with the website Consequence of Sound, vocalist Marilyn Manson spoke about the t-shirt sold by Justin Bieber that referenced him. Sold by Barneys for $125 last year, the t-shirt featured a photo of Marilyn Manson on the front and the phrase "Bigger Than Satan, Bieber" on the back.
Now, Manson says he was never asked for permission to use his image. He recounts:
"He was wearing the t-shirt when he met me and he told me 'I made you relevant again'. Big mistake to tell me that.".
The vocalist described Bieber: “He was really an idiot to have the arrogance to talk like that. And he’s still a clingy guy, he keeps touching you while he talks. And I was like, ‘You need to tone it down, man. You hit my waist, okay? So tone it down.’”
Manson also revealed that he eventually received the money for the use of the image: “I got all the money from the T-shirts. They didn't even argue, it was just 'yeah, we know, we messed up, here's your money'”.
