Julia Lage , bassist for Vixen , has released another solo project, the single "The Ride," which includes a music video.

The track features Richie Kotzen on guitar, Doug “Dug” Pinnick  on vocals, and Michael Odabashian on drums, with whom he worked on “Wake Up,” which he wrote.

In an interview with Bass Magazine , the instrumentalist commented on "The Ride": "I'd had this song written a long time ago, and while I was working to finish it, I kept hearing Doug Pinnick's voice in my head," says Lage.

The bassist recounts that when he agreed to add "his magic," she felt like "the happiest girl in the world." "I'm a huge fan of his and I have a lot of respect for his work."

Regarding the guitarist, there was no doubt: Richie Kotzen. “I needed the guitars to sound a certain way, and for the solo, I knew he was the perfect musician to do it! Richie is incredibly talented.”

She says that Kotzen needed two takes to record "The Ride," the first being for practice and the second when he was ready.

“I feel blessed to have them both sharing the music with me, and I sincerely hope that people will always remember that if they feel stuck or unmotivated, they can move forward and change their reality! Your journey may be crazy or lonely, but it’s yours! I hope you enjoy the ride!”
