Judas Priest Black Sabbath 's "War Pigs" this Wednesday, the 2nd .
The release, which includes a music video, is a tribute preceding the final show of the heavy metal legends.
Rob Halford and his band recorded the studio version of the track from the album Paranoid (1970). “War Pigs” is the song the band uses as an introduction at Judas Priest concerts. The music video also features guitarist Glenn Tipton , a long-time member who has been absent due to an advanced Parkinson's disease diagnosis.
In a press release, Judas Priest commented:
“We are honored to show our love for Ozzy and Black Sabbath with our tribute to 'War Pigs,' a song we play at every show around the world and that fans sing along to, reinforcing their love for the legendary Prince of Darkness!”
Judas Priest will not be playing at the highly anticipated farewell show of the original Black Sabbath lineup at the Back To The Beginning . In an interview with Metal Hammer , Rob explained that the band is committed to playing at the Scorpions , which will take place in Hanover on July 5th: "I had no idea what was going on!"
The highly anticipated farewell show of Black Sabbath takes place this Saturday, July 5th, at Villa Park in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Vocalist Ozzy Osbourne , bassist Geezer Butler , guitarist Tony Iommi , and drummer Bill Ward will take the stage for the last time.
Tickets for the show sold out quickly after the announcement in February; however, the band confirmed a live stream of the event. Tickets for the streaming are now on sale .
