Firepower, the new album by Judas Priest, was released on March 9th

British legends Judas Priest kicked off their world tour for their new album, Firepower , on the 13th in Pennsylvania, United States.

The show marked the band's first performance with Andy Sneap on guitar, who replaced Glenn Tipton after the latter decided not to tour due to the progression of Parkinson's disease. Sneap, in addition to producing Judas Priest's new album, also plays in the bands Hell and Sabbat.

Ian Hill, bassist, spoke about the choice of Andy: “It probably came during the recording of the album. Andy is a very good guitarist, an excellent guitarist, and I think Glenn was able to trust him, which is very important. We wanted someone we knew, if possible. The last thing you want is someone coming in with their own baggage, if you know what I mean. And we can trust Andy to do a good job, and I think he will do justice to the songs. And that was the main thing – I think it was the familiarity with Andy. We have great respect for him and the work he did on the album – I mean, it sounds phenomenal, he did a great job. We're playing songs from the new album, which he's totally familiar with, and he knows a lot of the parts. And he's also a Judas Priest fan – he's been listening to us for years – and he fits perfectly. I think he'll fit in and I think he'll do a tremendous job.”
