In a recent appearance on The Jasta Show , Tim “Ripper” Owens once again defended his bandmate KK Downing regarding things the guitarist wrote in his 2018 autobiography.

The book Heavy Duty: Days And Nights In Judas Priest recounts the turbulent events that led to Downing's departure from Judas Priest in 2011, including his troubled relationship with fellow guitarist Glenn Tipton .

Ripper defended his KK's Priest , stating that Downing "only told the truth" and had the right to tell his side of the story. Owens also revealed that things had been awkward since the creation of the 2001 Demolition

“I saw everything happen during Demolition ,” Owens says. “We were practically never together during [that period]; Glenn and Ken never together. I’d go to Ken’s house on weekends and have a beer, play pool, and things were heating up at the time.”

The musician also stated that KK never brings up the subject of Judas Priest with his colleagues in KK's Priest and blamed the media for continuing to ask the guitarist questions and then complaining when receiving the same answers. “People ask questions and it ends up sounding like he’s complaining. He doesn’t come into an interview saying, ‘Okay, I’m going to air all the dirty laundry’,” says Ripper.
