Scott Travis , drummer for Judas Priest , revealed that his band will release a new version Black Sabbath classic, "War Pigs ." The new recording will blend the vocals of Rob Halford and Ozzy Osbourne .
In an interview with Rock of Nations , the American explained that the two singers will alternate on the verses of the new version. Travis also explained the reason for the group's absence from Back To The Beginning .
“We had already signed a contract with the Scorpions for their 60th anniversary show, which was happening on the same day in Germany. At least we had Sharon [Osbourne] to re-record 'War Pigs' as a tribute. We did our version before Ozzy passed away. So it was kind of strange that we managed to do it. But there's a version coming out with Ozzy singing, too. Rob sings one verse and then Ozzy sings another. I think that's coming out soon. But anyway, we did our version and a video,” he said [transcription via Blabbermouth ].

In the same interview, Travis recalled the moment he saw Ozzy Osbourne live during the joint tour between Judas Priest and the original Black Sabbath lineup at Ozzfest in 2004. That was also the year Halford officially returned to the group after more than a decade away.
“In 2004, Rob had returned and we were on the Ozzfest tour. The two main attractions were the original Sabbath lineup and us. It was a whole summer tour in the United States, so it was great to be able to do that tour. At that time, we still had [guitarists] KK [Downing] and Glenn [Tipton] in the band. So that was a super cool time, and, obviously, Rob returning after 13 years,” he concluded.
