Judas Priest has just released the music video for the song “The Serpent and the King”. The song is the fourth single from the studio album Invincible Shield , which will be released on March 8th. “Panic Attack”, “Trial By Fire” and “Crown of Horns” are the other singles already released.
Rob Halford gave an interview to Zane Lowe of Apple Music 1 , transcribed from the Braveworks . He spoke about the music video for “The Serpent and the King”: “We’re talking about this ancient thing that’s been happening since the beginning of the universe. It’s God, it’s the devil. It’s black and white, it’s positive, it’s negative, it’s good, it’s evil, it’s love, it’s hate. It’s all these different textures involved in this fierce, uninterrupted, and relentless track, 'The Serpent And The King'.”
Glenn Tipton's fight against Parkinson's disease
In the interview, Rob also spoke about his bandmate Glenn Tipton with Parkinson's disease. And he shared how involved he is in the release of the new album.
Regarding his bandmate, Halford said: “Of course, what’s awful about Parkinson’s is that it can rob you of certain things that gave you life, as happened in metal with Glenn in his incredible guitar articulation. The good news is that Glenn’s hands are all over the Invincible Shield . He’s playing here, there, and everywhere. Richie did a remarkable job in terms of honoring some of Glenn’s styles, but Glenn is as active and involved in Priest as he ever was. And I appreciate you asking about him because he’s the guy, he was at the forefront of the metal scene, his guitar playing and his style and his distinctiveness and his articulation are very, very powerful.”
