The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has nominated the artists for 2020. They are: Nine Inch Nails , Depeche Mode , Whitney Houston , The Notorious B.I.G. , T. Rex , and The Doobie Brothers .
The ceremony will take place in May 2020. Although Dave Matthews Band received the most fan votes, their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will have to wait.
The same will happen to the other finalists who didn't make it into the Hall of Fame. This year, bands like Soundgarden , Judas Priest , Motörhead , Kraftwerk , Thin Lizzy , and Todd Rundgren were left out.
The committee, comprised of over 1,000 members, decided on the finalists. This committee includes artists, historians, and members of the music industry. Fan votes are also factored into the selection of new Hall of Fame members.
The ceremony will take place on May 2nd at Public Hall in Cleveland, Ohio. The event will be broadcast on HBO.
