The new track seeks to honor the heroism of soldiers
Judas Priest released "Never The Heroes" this Friday, February 2nd, a track that is part of the band's eighteenth studio album, Firepower, which will be released on March 9th by Epic Records.
“Never The Heroes” is the third track from the album to be released in its entirety, joining “Firepower” and “Lightning Strike” , the latter accompanied by a music video.
In releasing the new song, the band issued a statement explaining the context of the lyrics: “'Never The Heroes' is about the men and women who are brave enough to go to war. They are not trained to be heroes but become heroes through their actions and the sacrifices they are forced to make in the name of service and country. This reflects on us too, because in difficult times, we can be strong and together we can overcome our problems and help others.”
The successor to Redeemer Of Souls (2014) was recorded with longtime bandmate Tom Allom, British producer Andy Sneap, and sound engineer Mike Exeter, who has previously collaborated with Black Sabbath.
Firepower promotional tour will be without guitarist Glenn Tipton due to the progression of Parkinson's disease, which he was diagnosed with a decade ago. Sneap will replace him.
