Judas Priest Invincible Shield , this Friday, the 8th . The album follows Firepower , from 2018.

Regarding the album's production and recording, Rob Halford said (via Blabbermouth ): “But yeah, I go into the room with Glenn [ Tipton , Priest guitarist] and Richie [ Faulkner , Priest guitarist] and the riffs start. It's a lot of improvisation, a lot of riffing and a lot of free creativity. It's simply remarkable how this whole process, this chemistry between the three of us happens and we love it. It's very, very special to us.”

“There are definitely a few more twists on this album. There are a few more musical parts,” guitarist Richie Faulkner said in an interview with Audio Ink Radio . “It deviates from the path, a bit like ‘Sinner’ or ‘Tyrant’ or something like that. So, it’s a bit more like the Priest of the 70s, but it’s not a retro album, not at all. It’s the influence of the Priest of the 70s in a progressive sense, but it still feels like Priest in 2023.”

Faulkner adds: “Each album is independent, stylistically. It has that Judas Priest DNA, because the characters are very strong. But it’s always been a little different – keeping that DNA, but having its own character. So, this one isn’t different, actually, in the sense that it’s obviously Judas Priest, but it’s something of its own; it stands on its own two feet.”
