Judas Priest drops Andy Sneap from 50th anniversary tour and guitarist responds: “Disappointing”

Despite confirming Andy Sneap's presence on the tour, Judas Priest decided to continue as an "unstoppable quartet"

Despite Rob Halford confirming Andy Sneap 's presence Judas Priest 's 50th anniversary tour , the band seems to have changed their minds.

Last Monday, the 10th, Judas Priest announced in a brief statement that they would be celebrating half a century as a band "as a relentless heavy metal quartet," thus ruling out the presence of the guitarist and co-producer of Firepower (2018).

Andy, who has been filling in for guitarist Glenn Tipton on tour since 2018, told Blabbermouth that he had no part in the band's decision to continue as a quartet and found the news "incredibly disappointing."

“Rob called me on Monday and said they wanted to move forward as a quartet, which I think is incredibly disappointing after all this time, but I respect his decision because they obviously have a sense of what they want to do,” commented Andy Sneap.

Andy also recalled that this was always a "temporary situation" and said that he will continue with the new album and successor to Firepower.
