Judas Priest has announced the release of their first official book. Judas Priest – 50 Heavy Metal Years will tell the story of the band's 50 years, and will also include images and testimonials from the band members.

Ross Halfin , a well-known photographer in the rock world, will have many of his works printed in the book, as he has been following the band since 1978. According to a statement released to the press, many of the images will be previously unpublished and, in addition to Halfin, will feature other photographers such as Neil Zlozower, Mark Weiss, Fin Costello , and Oliver Halfin.

With 648 pages, the book was written by renowned journalist Mark Blake and will have four different editions. The first will have only 100 copies, and all the money raised will be donated to the Glenn Tipton Foundation , which helps people suffering from Parkinson's disease, like the guitarist. The other editions will be a deluxe edition with some surprises, the Epic Leather and Metal Edition , and the standard edition.

50 Heavy Metal Years will be officially released near Christmas this year, but will be available for pre-order starting September 11th. The standard edition is £79 while the Limited Leather and Metal Edition is £495, excluding delivery. Click here to learn more.
