Judas Priest kicked off their European tour without the look that helped establish them in metal: instead of leather and studs, and a lavish stage production, the band performed in normal clothes without any major special effects.
The show took place in Berlin, Germany, last Tuesday, the 31st, in a concert hall with a capacity of about 1,600 people, according to Blabbermouth .
On social media, guitarist Ritchie Faulkner spoke about the experience. “Last night in Berlin was glorious and something I’ve never done with the band before. No leather, no rivets. No screens, no motorbike. No massive light show or inflatable Birmingham bull,” he wrote. “Exposed speakers, just jeans, T-shirts, a small venue and it was all purely about the music. All of us together and the raw power of the music. It was a really great experience and I’d love to do it again someday.”
Currently, Judas Priest is on tour celebrating 50 years of their career and will be playing at various European festivals.
