Them Crooked Vultures , a " supergroup " featuring Josh Homme ( Queens of the Stone Age ), Dave Grohl ( Foo Fighters ), John Paul Jones ( Led Zeppelin ), and producer Alain Johannes , released their first and only album to date in November 2009. Following a tour after the release, the members went their separate ways in 2010. In 2022, the band briefly reunited for tribute performances to Taylor Hawkins in Los Angeles and London.

During a Q&A session with fans on Reddit , the Queens Of The Stone Age responded to a fan who asked if there was any possibility of the band releasing a new album, saying, “It’s not exactly my job to get the band back together, that’s Dave’s job. My job is to dance around, write lyrics, and try to compose some music.”

Homme added: “I really want to, Dave knows this. I really want the Vultures to get back together one more time.”

“The band is so different, the music is so strange and perverse,” Homme said of Them Crooked Vultures. “I made the most of our tours and being in this band, because the other guys are Dave Grohl and John Paul Jones and they’re really good. The execution is so straightforward, you can have ideas and they just happen immediately. And that’s a bit addictive, that atmosphere.”

Concluding his comments, Homme said: “Is there any chance? Yes, but I like that it doesn’t depend on me. Is it a good chance? No.”
