Josh Homme discusses dispute with Brody Dalle and his sons for the first time.

They have been fighting for custody of their children since their divorce in 2019.

Josh Homme , lead singer of Queens of the Stone Age , has broken his silence regarding the legal battles he has been facing with his ex-wife Brody Dalle . The two, leaders of Queens of the Stone Age and The Distillers respectively, were married between 2005 and 2019 and divorced amidst disputes.

The musician released a statement updating the status of the dispute, commenting that he has been granted sole legal custody of the couple's three children and detailing the events of the case. Read the full statement below.

"Out of respect and concern for his minor children and their well-being, Joshua Homme has avoided making public statements about his family to the media. Because of the continued falsehoods, repeated invasions of the children's privacy, and the emotional damage all of this has caused, it is time to tell the truth. Our hope is that this will put an end to the investigations and speculation and give the family the privacy and consideration it deserves."

For over a year after their divorce was finalized, Joshua Homme and Brody Dalle managed to share custody of their three children amicably, healthily, and functionally. The situation took a dark turn when Dalle violated the 50/50 custody agreement by not allowing the children to see their father. Despite several orders from the Los Angeles Family Court to return the children, and despite contempt of court, Dalle continued to violate the custody agreement. The situation worsened with the inappropriate actions of her boyfriend, Gunner Foxx.

In March 2022, the Los Angeles Family Court granted Joshua Homme full custody of the three children, and they are currently in the care of their father and paternal grandparents. Dalle was granted supervised visitation rights with his youngest son during this period. Joshua Homme will remain the sole legal guardian of all minor children until a custody hearing takes place in the fall of 2023 [spring in Brazil], when a more permanent solution will be determined by the Los Angeles Family Court.

Recent actions by Brody Dalle and Gunner Foxx have not only caused emotional harm to the children but have also placed them in danger. As a result of these actions, on March 16, 2023, the Los Angeles Family Court issued a permanent restraining order against Brody Dalle for a period of 1 year and 11 months. This Domestic Violence Restraint Order was granted to protect the family (and act on its behalf), including Joshua, his three children, and Joshua's parents, Michael and Irene Homme.

It was reported [in the media] in the fall of 2021 [spring in Brazil] that Homme's children had filed a restraining order against their father and that it had been signed by their mother. In court proceedings, it was proven that the restraining order was written and filed by Gunner Foxx, who forged Dalle's signature on the document. Dalle testified in court that she knew Foxx had forged her signature and stated that she had done nothing to clarify the facts in the media.

In August 2022, Joshua Homme and his two children won the right to a restraining order protecting them all from Gunner Foxx, preventing him from contacting any of them for a period of five years. Foxx's requests against Homme were denied by two different courts.

It was reported [in the media] that Homme's daughter had filed for a restraining order against him. This was also done by Gunner Foxx, who took the minor to court without the presence of either of her parents. Before the hearing on this matter – at the child's request and through her own advice – the order was rescinded.

All allegations made against Joshua Homme by Brody Dalle and Gunner Foxx or on behalf of Homme's children have been investigated multiple times by local law enforcement, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Families, and the Los Angeles County Courts. Additionally, the children are represented and their best interests are protected by their own legal counsel, the Department of Children and Families, and the Los Angeles judicial system. Following these investigations, as well as the 24-hour court-ordered monitoring (at both parents' homes for several months), the Los Angeles Family Court determined that it is in the children's best interest to remain in their father's care.

The Homme family is grateful to all the Los Angeles County courts, the juvenile court, the local police, the Department of Children and Families, and the court-appointed monitors for their time, continued attention, and care. The goal of the Los Angeles Family Court and Joshua Homme's sincere hope is that this matter will be resolved as a result of both Homme and Dalle's ability to share the care of their children peacefully.

Since their divorce, Dalle and Homme have been fighting for custody of their children. In early September, Josh Homme's children filed for a restraining order out of fear of their father , claiming he is "abusive." Orrin , 10, and Wolf , 5, say their father is "frightening" and they fear for their safety.

According to TMZ , Orrin reported a recent incident in which his father even grabbed his private parts and threatened in front of his children to murder their mother's current boyfriend. Read more here .
