Jorge Marinhas , guitarist of the band Republica, has passed away. This was confirmed by the band itself in a sad announcement on their social media.
"Today is the saddest day in our history. Our brother is gone… our master! The first to arrive at rehearsals… the creator of lyrics, harmonies, and melodies that made our history. Our foundation of energy. You will be greatly missed… we don't even know how to find the strength to go on," the post reads.
Concluding the announcement, the band writes, “Our consolation is that we are certain you will always watch over us and guide us. Because that's what you always did. You took care of us. Thank you so much for everything, Jorjão!!! We love you so much and eternally.”
No information regarding the cause of Marinhas' death has been released.
