Anthrax has no plans to release a new album until touring is a real possibility again, but they are continuing to work on material for their next project nonetheless.
Guitarist Jonathan Donais , who joined the band as a replacement for Rob Caggiano in 2013, has not yet been involved in the album's creation process. “I know the band is working on new things and has material written,” he said in an interview on The Chuck Shute (via Blabbermouth ). “They’ve written everything, they already have a system in place. All bands work in different ways and it works very well for them. They’ve been successful for over 35 years, they’re getting stronger – they’re stronger than ever, actually. The last few albums were incredible.”
At the end of 2020, Scott Ian lamented the current world situation, but said that isolation provided "more time to work" on the band's next release. "We need to be patient – everyone needs to be patient," he commented in an interview with Mosh Talks With Beez .
