Deven Davis suffered from a mental illness
Jonathan Davis , lead singer of Korn , has issued a statement regarding the death of his wife, Deven, who passed away at the age of 39.
“For the past decade, my wife has been very, very ill. She had a serious mental illness, and her addiction was a side effect. I loved her very much. When she was her true self, she was an incredible wife, mother, and friend.”
“She is the reason I have so strongly advocated for those fighting for mental health. I want her story to inspire people to seek help, not to be afraid or hide their illness. If you know someone with a mental illness, have compassion and empathy and know that they are not bad people, they are suffering.”
Davis even filed a request in court to keep his wife away from their children, alleging that she was abusing drugs.
The cause of death was not revealed.
