"This is the closest I can get to a love song," said Jonathan Davis

Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis has released the music video for "Basic Needs." The song is part of his recent solo album, Black Labyrinth . The video tells a moving story, in keeping with the themes of the song.

Regarding the new single, Jonathan said: “'Basic Needs' is the closest I can get to a love song. It also gave me the chance to explore different instruments and styles of world music. To step outside of what is called the norm.”

Davis began compiling songs for his solo project in 2007, frequently writing and recording while on tour with Korn. Last year, after listening to the material, he decided to update and release it.

“I’ve been waiting 11 years to release this,” he said. “It’s really good to finish something I started so long ago. It’s something I’m very proud of. I’ve been very patient; the songs have been on my laptop for years. So, it’s really great to finish them, release them, and play them live.”
