Iced Earth and Demons & Wizards guitarist was denied bail on Friday, the 19th, in a virtual hearing with Judge Zia M. Faruqui. She determined that the musician must await trial in prison.

Schaffer stormed the United States Capitol in Washington on January 6th in protest against the presidential election that took place in November 2020, when Republican Donald Trump was defeated by Democrat Joe Biden.

According to the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation), Jon Schaffer is accused of the following crimes:

1) Intentionally entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority;
2) Disrupting the orderly conduct of governmental business;
3) Knowingly participating in an act of physical violence against any person or property in any restricted building or grounds;
4) Violent entry and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building;
5) Engaging in an act of physical violence in a Capitol building;
6) Parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building;
