Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer , who stormed the United States Capitol in Washington on the 6th, turned himself in to police and was arrested.

The FBI's Indianapolis office issued the following statement after the musician, who resides in the state of Indiana, turned himself in:

Jon Schaffer was arrested in connection with the incident on January 6th at the U.S. Capitol. Schaffer was charged with six violations:

  1. Entering and remaining in restricted access buildings without authorization;
  2. To disrupt the normal course of government affairs;
  3. To commit acts of physical violence against people or property in buildings with restricted access;
  4. Having entered the Capitol in a violent and disorderly manner;
  5. To commit acts of physical violence inside the Capitol;
  6. To hold demonstrations and pickets inside the Capitol.

Jon Schaffer and about 200 other individuals stormed the Capitol to protest the final vote count in the US presidential election, which gave the victory to Democrat Joe Biden .

Although Schaffer has not yet spoken publicly, the other members of Iced Earth have issued a statement disapproving of and condemning the acts of violence .
