Iced Earth guitarist Jon Schaffer , who stormed the United States Capitol on the 6th, will be extradited to the American capital, Washington DC, to continue his trial.
Marion County Jail in Indianapolis since the 18th. Jon Schaffer's defense has agreed with the US prosecution to proceed with the legal process in Washington.
Jon Schaffer has been added to the FBI's most wanted list and is accused of six violations:
- Entering and remaining in restricted access buildings without authorization;
- To disrupt the normal course of government affairs;
- To commit acts of physical violence against people or property in buildings with restricted access;
- Having entered the Capitol in a violent and disorderly manner;
- To commit acts of physical violence inside the Capitol;
- To hold demonstrations and pickets inside the Capitol.
Jon Schaffer and about 200 other individuals stormed the Capitol to protest the final vote count in the US presidential election, which gave the victory to Democrat Joe Biden .
In the video below, Jon Schaffer is shown walking towards the Capitol on the 6th, justifying his actions before the invasion. Among other things, he says:
"Trump is dealing with a criminal mafia that, in the shadows, has been ruling the world for a long time."
"There will be a lot of blood spilled if necessary. The American people won't buy this bullshit once they understand what's going on. Nobody wants this, but they're pushing us to a point where we have no choice."
Although Schaffer has not yet spoken publicly, the other members of Iced Earth have issued a statement disapproving of and condemning the acts of violence .
