Dette replaces Raphael Saini.
Drummer Jon Dette, who has previously played with Slayer, Anthrax, and Testament, has now replaced Raphael Saini in Iced Earth. Dette will be with the band until the end of their European tour.
Saini has been with Iced Earth since May, when drummer Brent Smedley left the band for personal family reasons. Saini played shows and recorded the band's new album, "Plagues Of Babylon," scheduled for release in January 2014.
The band thanked Saini in a statement on Facebook and wished the drummer luck in his future projects. Saini said he felt honored to have been a part of the band.
