In a recent interview with Rock Sound , Jon Bon Jovi shared his desire to see Lzzy Hale become the official vocalist for Skid Row .
The vocalist responded enthusiastically when Hale's name was mentioned ( transcribed via Louder ): “She should please join Skid Row. Please, Lzzy Hale, join Skid Row. Join the two bands if necessary. This is the best thing that has happened to Snake since he met me.”
The singer has been a personal friend of Dave Sabo , guitarist of Skid Row, since childhood, as they lived in the same neighborhood. Their friendship has lasted for over 40 years.
After Erik Grönwall left in April 2024 , Hale headlined four shows with the band in late May and early June. Erik temporarily left Skid Row to focus on his health. In 2021, doctors diagnosed Erik with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, but he was discharged some time later.
Despite leaving a lasting impression during her brief stint as Skid Row's vocalist, even catching the attention of Bon Jovi, Lzzy Hale and the other band members have stated that she will not be holding the position permanently.
Skid Row in Brazil
The band performed at the Summer Breeze Brasil festival in April 2023 , still with Erik Grönwall in the official lineup. The Swede led the vocals in an electrifying Skid Row show.
A little over a year after the musicians' visit to Brazil, Erik announced his departure after two years since his debut with the band as the official vocalist.
No official statement has been issued regarding Hale's continued membership in or departure from the group.
