Johnny Rotten claims legal battle against Sex Pistols ruined his finances: "I'm screwed."

The musician expressed disappointment with his "cruel" former bandmates and claimed to have lost millions of dollars.

In August, John Lydon – better known as Johnny Rottenlost a legal battle Sex Pistols bandmates after refusing to license the band's music for the biographical series Pistols . The winning side argued that in 1998, the group signed an agreement stipulating that the majority decision would determine the use of their music, which led to Johnny's defeat in court.

In a recent interview with The Telegraph , Lydon stated that he was in a "serious state of financial ruin" caused by his "wicked" former bandmates. "I have no savings, no loans, no pensions. I have nothing... I'm screwed and sunk in many different ways," he said angrily.

“All this bureaucratic mess cost me millions. It was a hideous and sordid attack; I never imagined Steve , Paul , and Glen could be so cruel. And we never even sat down and talked about it,” he lamented. “It’s a very serious problem. I’m going to have to work very hard to get any kind of stable environment to take care of the people I love. That’s what they did to me. Thanks, boys!”

At the time the case went to court, Lydon's lawyer argued Pistols series portrayed him in a "not at all flattering" way, while Johnny claimed he was unaware of the proposal to use Sex Pistols music in the production until "a few hours before" it was announced.
