Johnny Monster released the single "Cidade Grande" this Tuesday, the 5th, via ForMusic Records . The track, which follows " Os Pássaros ," is part of the album A Nova Era Do Só Você , which will be released in October.
The new song begins with a striking drum beat and transforms into a grand finale, with orchestration and moving melodies. The lyrics, in turn, show a vision of the dark side of cities and society, but end with a hopeful message.
Thus, “Cidade Grande” anticipates the folk sound of the next album. “The project is super 'vintage', recorded organically, and with few edits. Producer Carlos Eduardo Freitas were inspired by productions from the 60s and 70s like the Beach Boys and Velvet Underground , and by the 'wall of sound' technique of albums like Pet Sounds (1966),” reveals the São Paulo musician and composer.
