Johnny Monster escapes the illusions of the city in the very Brazilian folk rock of "Os Pássaros" (The Birds).

Single is the first taste of the upcoming album by the singer-songwriter from São Paulo.

Against the backdrop of the city's frenetic pace, bustling enough to always seem cheerful despite the loneliness, Johnny Monster attempts to escape the illusions of the concrete jungle in his new single "Os Pássaros" (The Birds), a folk rock song that travels from Led Zeppelin and Radiohead to the Brazilian sounds of Almir Satter .

Released last Friday, the 4th, the song "Os Pássaros" is the first sample of the new album by the singer and songwriter from São Paulo. Still without a defined release date, the project is called A Nova Era Do Só Você and should reach the public sometime in 2023 via For Music Records .

According to Johnny Monster's own description, the new single takes on epic proportions throughout its seven-minute duration, built on various layers of vocals and instruments, traveling between dream, delirium, and reality. "Like a meeting between Led Zeppelin and Almir Satter," the artist summarizes. "[The song] wanders through diverse soundscapes, with a hypnotic groove, a Radiohead-esque chorus, and contemplative and escapist lyrics, alluding to the birds that sing in the city as soon as dawn breaks."

The song “Os Pássaros” features Thiago Moretti (violin), Helena Hennemann (backing vocals), Júlio Pelloso (cello), Guga Almeida (drums), and Carlos Eduardo Freitas (bass, who also produced the song).

In his latest release, the album Futuro Perplexo , released in 2022, Johnny Monster navigated between rock and pop in the most diverse project of his career to date. The project cycle also included a second album, called Futuro Reflexo , this time featuring covers by 11 guest artists from various musical genres. Both releases are also on the ForMusic Records .
