Johnny Monster , Red Star Sessions , this Tuesday, the 24th . Inspired by the raw aesthetic and energy of the iconic Peel Sessions by English radio host John Peel , the tracks were recorded live with few overdubs, just like the historic sessions recorded at the BBC studios.
It was with this spirit that Johnny called upon his friend and idol Clemente Nascimento , from Inocentes and Plebe Rude , and his companions from various projects, Edgar Avian on drums and Will Vazquez on bass, to record, almost entirely live at Red Star studio, 3 unreleased songs.
The result is visceral and post-punk, with Johnny and Clemente's guitars intertwining, supported by the solid rhythm section of Edgar and Will, renowned musicians with experience touring internationally with world-renowned punk rock artists.
Red Star Sessions marks an unprecedented encounter between Clemente and Johnny in this format, reaffirming the chemistry that had already proven powerful when they played together in the Fantastic Nameless Band . The Fantastic Party for Clemente
On Thursday the 26th, starting at 8 PM, Red Star Studios will host the Fantastic Party for Clemente – a special event in support of Clemente.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go entirely to Clemente, directly contributing to his recovery after a difficult period during which he was unable to work.
Even those who cannot attend can still contribute: advance tickets are unlimited and can be purchased as a form of support, including by those outside of São Paulo or anywhere in Brazil.
It will be a night of celebration, friendship, and music, with various acts and bands coming together for a special cause.
