Johnny Monster's solo album arrives via ForMusic label after a series of acclaimed singles
The singer-songwriter Johnny Monster, has released his first solo album, Canções de Desapego (Songs of Detachment ). The album also marks the debut of the ForMusic label, with its first record released. The work signals an extensive and varied trajectory, compiling a series of stories and experiences into his first album.
“I feel very happy because I’m finally focusing on my solo career after so many projects and bands. As a declaration of love to my wife, “Entrelaços” is one of my favorite tracks,” commented Monster.
The album's influences explore diverse paths, ranging from Erasmo Carlos, Oasis, Jesus and Mary Chain, Lou Reed, and Bob Mould .
Regarding expectations and desires for the next steps, the singer gets straight to the point. “I want to do a lot of shows. The band is ready, they are the same musicians who played on the album, the stage is where I feel most comfortable. There's a trend among new artists that practically no longer needs a live show, that a performance is only necessary when there's a demand from the audience. I can't agree with that. For me, an artist is made on stage.”
