Johnny Monster releases new single; listen to “Folhas de Outono” (Autumn Leaves)

Johnny Monster calls for change in new single

“Dissatisfied, I move on… will we ever get there?”. This is one of the sincere questions posed in “Folhas de Outono” (Autumn Leaves), the new single from São Paulo native Johnny Monster , which was released on all digital platforms last Friday, the 26th.

Although written a few months ago, the song reflects much of the artist's emotional state regarding the current Brazilian political situation. "I don't tell many stories. My compositions are about my experiences, my reactions to the outside world," says Johnny, who draws inspiration from names like Raul Seixas , Erasmo Carlos , and Lou Reed in terms of honesty in his music.

“Folhas de Outono” was recorded at Wah Wah Studio in São Paulo. Produced by Michel Kuaker, the single will be part of Johnny's second solo album, Canções do Desapego , scheduled for release in 2019 by the ForMusic label. “I've known Johnny Monster since the 1990s; our bands were part of the same scene. Later we ended up playing on some projects together, and that's when he revealed his songwriting side. He's a mature artist committed to his art. An iconic figure!” comments Kuaker.
