guitarist John Petrucci has reunited, as promised, with former drummer Mike Portnoy for his new album Terminal Velocity . And today, the 7th, the music video for the title track, the first written for the new album, officially brings the former bandmates together.
“Having Mike play drums on this album was really special for me and he did an absolutely incredible job navigating the various styles and technical challenges that my music presented in a way that only he can,” Petrucci revealed, via Blabbermouth .
“It was very cathartic for both of us, I think, to be playing together again after all these years and I really felt great! Mike’s spirited, intuitive and energetic touch really helped elevate these new songs to a level that I couldn’t be happier with,” said the guitarist.
